Williamsburg, Virginia Baby Shower

I threw a baby shower for my sister this past weekend. It was lots of work to get it organized and ready to go. Decorations and food planning take quite a bit of time but in the end it was worth it. I mean, who couldn't throw little miss Berlin a baby shower?

We planned for the theme to be owls since that is what she is doing the baby's room in. I hand drew the owls and then scanned them in so that they could be used on everything else, such as invitations, cupcakes toppers, finger print tree, etc. The colors were then purple, pink and some red. Berlin's room is also a purple tone which went with our theme.

As guests arrived, they placed a finger print on the tree. We wanted something a little different for her to keep as a memory for a reminder as to who was there to celebrate her pregnancy.  To add to it, we came up with a little rhyme. :) As for games, we played match the celebrity with the child name, the memory tray game and filled out some mad libs. We finished with eating lots of yumminess and opening presents. Not bad for a first thrown shower! Looking forward to meeting little miss Berlin!!

Yorktown, VA Family Photographer

Two weekends ago, I shot a family session in Yorktown at the beach area. Kayla had contacted me about getting some photos done of her adorable family. It was a gorgeous and perfect day. I can't believe it's the middle of June and we have had such cool days. Usually, we are sweating and staying inside by now. Here's a glimpse of how it all went.

Richmond, Virginia Wedding Photographer

You know what makes a wedding fun? It's the bride and groom who know how to have a blast. It's the bride who is so laid back that she can take photos however I ask and not worry about her dress... after the ceremony of course! It's the groom who is ok with getting undressed on the dance floor :) and it's the bridal party who are crazy and wild. All those things make an awesome wedding and one heck of a good time! One look at these photos and everyone who was unable to make it will see just how beautiful of a ceremony it was, how gorgeous the bride looked, and be able to catch a glimpse of the party that took place. Congrats to Christy and Stro on your marriage and thanks for allowing your photographer to party among the crowd!! Outer Banks, NC

I'm beginning to get behind in posting. A lot has been going on over the last month and there have been way too many photos. I've decided to start with the most recent and then work my way backwards. I mean.. Europe is going to have a billion to go through. I'm not sure when I will get caught up with those, not to mention the weddings coming up and photo sessions. Anyway, this past weekend was our weekend in the Outer Banks. We were supposed to go last year, but the hurricane ruined that one. It was super strong and pretty much wiped away the KOA as well as the bridge getting over there. As we drove down there this year, you could tell they were still repairing so many things. A few years ago we went and camped at the KOA and ended up leaving at 2am. It was HOT, HUMID and miserable!!! This year they built brand new cabins and with having three kids in tow, we went with that!! It was such a great and relaxing time. The kids had a blast. If it weren't for the man eating mosquitos that about made us bleed to death, I would say there was nothing wrong the entire weekend. We sent balloons to heaven, bounced, rode bikes, beached it for a bit, caught crabs in the sand, swam in the pool, ate ice cream and BBQ. Oh, and got lots of sun. We could do that every weekend if you let us :) It was a nice kick off to whats about to happen this summer.
