Dominican Republic Vacation
This past week I spent my time in Punta Cana, Domincan Republic. It was absolutely amazing and I enjoyed every single second of it. My only wish was that I could have stayed longer. :) The beach was gorgeous, the hotel was awesome and the scenery.. breath-taking. I was asked to shoot a wedding there and couldn't say no... NEVER! I ended up bringing my son and my mom and little brother went with as well. We all had a great time kayaking, swimming, tanning, drinking yummy drinks, watched awesome shows, met the sweetest and most kind people you could ever meet and realized you don't need much to be happy. I mean.. we knew that, but these people truly showed it. I would love to go back there again and do more off the resort that involved the lives of the Dominicans. What they taught us in that short amount of time was amazing. The kids were super friendly as well as super adorable. We had nothing bad to say about our trip to the Dominican Republic. It's a place that will hopefully be visited again.
P.S.. photos of the wedding will soon follow. :)

New website, new blog design, new post!
Well, as you can see, I redesigned my blog. I did this so that it would match my brand spankin new website that I absolutely LOVE!! I think it describes my work so much better and definitely represents myself more. I just felt it was time after 5 years to update things around here at Jessica Oatman Photography. :) So... here it is.
In the mean time, I went outside today in the pouring rain while my kids puddle stomped around and took some photos. I just love photos that are so natural and describe what children actually do. This is what mine do.

Pretty bows and little girls
Look at this sweet little girl I got to shoot today. She is simply adorable. However, she isn't a fan of the camera but that's ok, I'm sure I will get to work her into modeling for me soon! :) Her mom owns and runs Buttercup's Boutique which is the fabulous creation of all these awesome bows. Take a look and check them out. You will be seeing plenty more of her creations around here!!

Williamsburg, VA family reunion photography
The other day I was lucky enough to meet with this adorable family. They were all coming together to celebrate an anniversary and the birth of two little boys. One of whom is already 11 months and the other 4 months. Those little boys were just too stinkin cute! I mean look at the pics and tell me you don't want to squish them both? I always feel blessed to photograph moments that are so important to people and family get togethers are no different. It's hard for families to come together and visit when they live states away so these moments are just as important as any. Here is their visit. :)

Virginia Beach Photography
Believe it or not, I haven't been taking many photos lately of my kids or the family. There has been so much going on that I find I don't grab my camera as I run out the door. However, I do have my iphone with me and do tend to snap some images with that. They are nothing special but none the less, they are my kids and I have captured their fun personalities. We went to Virginia Beach and I took a few pics of the hot day, the fun waves and the cute smiles. enjoy. ( I also noticed they are watermarked with love of country. It's my other blog.. oh well.)

Graduation Party.
My twin brothers graduated high school. I can't believe that the time has flown by and they are officially done with school. I remember volunteering in their kindergarden class with christmas activities while I was home from college. I'm super proud of both of them. They may be twins, but they are like day and night in some things while in other things they ride along the same line.
Well, in June we had a graduation party for all the boys graduating from the swim team. It was a big party with a pig roasting and lots of yummy food. Believe it or not, there are no girls graduating this year so it's not like we were leaving them out. :) Anyway, it was a good time filled with swimming, eating, photos, and laughter. We are super proud of all of them. They will each be going in separate ways but I believe they will continue on with their friendships for a long time. Congrats to each and every one of you!!
