I've been searching for a place where I could find amazing photography done by or for our soldiers. A place to view weddings, engagements, homecomings, deployments, and family sessions. It was hard to come by. Then I started to think about it and came to the conclusion that I could start one myself. It would take time to get it up and going, to get a following, and to find supporters. So far, however, in the few weeks that it has been up, the response has been great. People are loving what they are seeing, what our purpose is about and they too want to support our troops. Once I started to dive into this project more though, I decided I wanted it to be more. I wanted it to have an even bigger purpose. The website now has Memorial Mondays, which are dedicated to our fallen. It's a day given to those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for our country. So that we remember who they are, the lives they lived and so that we can carry on their name. Tues, Wed, & Thurs. are for everything from photo sessions to random military topics and Friday's are for fabulous internet finds. In the end, I decided I wanted it to encompass anything that had to do with supporting our troops and our love of country. So feel free to jump over and check out Love of Country. You can also find them on facebook HERE!

Williamsburg, Virginia Baby Shower
I threw a baby shower for my sister this past weekend. It was lots of work to get it organized and ready to go. Decorations and food planning take quite a bit of time but in the end it was worth it. I mean, who couldn't throw little miss Berlin a baby shower?
We planned for the theme to be owls since that is what she is doing the baby's room in. I hand drew the owls and then scanned them in so that they could be used on everything else, such as invitations, cupcakes toppers, finger print tree, etc. The colors were then purple, pink and some red. Berlin's room is also a purple tone which went with our theme.
As guests arrived, they placed a finger print on the tree. We wanted something a little different for her to keep as a memory for a reminder as to who was there to celebrate her pregnancy. To add to it, we came up with a little rhyme. :) As for games, we played match the celebrity with the child name, the memory tray game and filled out some mad libs. We finished with eating lots of yumminess and opening presents. Not bad for a first thrown shower! Looking forward to meeting little miss Berlin!!

Yorktown, VA Family Photographer
Two weekends ago, I shot a family session in Yorktown at the beach area. Kayla had contacted me about getting some photos done of her adorable family. It was a gorgeous and perfect day. I can't believe it's the middle of June and we have had such cool days. Usually, we are sweating and staying inside by now. Here's a glimpse of how it all went.

Richmond, Virginia Wedding Photographer
You know what makes a wedding fun? It's the bride and groom who know how to have a blast. It's the bride who is so laid back that she can take photos however I ask and not worry about her dress... after the ceremony of course! It's the groom who is ok with getting undressed on the dance floor :) and it's the bridal party who are crazy and wild. All those things make an awesome wedding and one heck of a good time! One look at these photos and everyone who was unable to make it will see just how beautiful of a ceremony it was, how gorgeous the bride looked, and be able to catch a glimpse of the party that took place. Congrats to Christy and Stro on your marriage and thanks for allowing your photographer to party among the crowd!!
