My little Niece : Williamsburg Baby Photography

It's been really busy around here lately and I haven't been posting a whole ton. It will pick up again soon but for now I've been doing a thousand other things on top of photography. I guess that's just the way life goes. Last weekend my niece, Berlin, came to visit me. She is just as adorable as can be and I want to eat her up. I love the 6 month -12 months stage. Those are some of my favorite times with babies and I really miss that stage with mine. Here she is at a whole whopping 6 months old.

My sister had a little girl and named her Berlin Elisabeth. She is just the sweetest little thing and she makes you realize how fast your own kids have grown up... way to fast. I mean my youngest will be three this month... 3!! Where does the time go? I love that they are getting more independent but when you see a newborn you miss the cuddling stage. However, I do not miss the sleepless nights. It hasn't been that long. haha.

Also, for those of you wondering about the "doll".. that is my brother.  When he was killed, we all received something that was his from when we were growing up together. The blanket was one that we all made together and Stef received his. Berlin is wrapped in it and laying along side the Paul doll. Even though he isn't with us, his memory will forever live on through us and we will always talk about him with our kids. He will never be forgotten.

Anyway, my sister isn't very patient and I know she is dying to see these so I edited some pretty quick just for her to view. Meet little miss Berlin!!

Williamsburg, VA family reunion photography

The other day I was lucky enough to meet with this adorable family. They were all coming together to celebrate an anniversary and the birth of two little boys. One of whom is already 11 months and the other 4 months. Those little boys were just too stinkin cute! I mean look at the pics and tell me you don't want to squish them both? I always feel blessed to photograph moments that are so important to people and family get togethers are no different. It's hard for families to come together and visit when they live states away so these moments are just as important as any. Here is their visit. :)

Williamsburg, Virginia Baby Shower

I threw a baby shower for my sister this past weekend. It was lots of work to get it organized and ready to go. Decorations and food planning take quite a bit of time but in the end it was worth it. I mean, who couldn't throw little miss Berlin a baby shower?

We planned for the theme to be owls since that is what she is doing the baby's room in. I hand drew the owls and then scanned them in so that they could be used on everything else, such as invitations, cupcakes toppers, finger print tree, etc. The colors were then purple, pink and some red. Berlin's room is also a purple tone which went with our theme.

As guests arrived, they placed a finger print on the tree. We wanted something a little different for her to keep as a memory for a reminder as to who was there to celebrate her pregnancy.  To add to it, we came up with a little rhyme. :) As for games, we played match the celebrity with the child name, the memory tray game and filled out some mad libs. We finished with eating lots of yumminess and opening presents. Not bad for a first thrown shower! Looking forward to meeting little miss Berlin!!

Meet baby Abby. She was born very early and by early I mean about 4 months early. This little thing right here is a miracle along with that big brother of hers. The Bensten family is nothing but walking miracles. Her older brother battled neuroblastoma when he was about 12 months old and that is how I came to know this family. What a kind, sweet, caring and genuine family they all are. If you met them, you would totally fall in love with each and every one of them. So, needless to say, I was thrilled when she asked me to capture this little girl and show others what God has done for them and how little Abby, weighing in at only 1 lb. has fought and made this world her own already. I'll let you what, she has a great example to look up to!!

Meet Luka. He is everything adorable a newborn should be. He totally rocked this session and did such an amazing job. We moved him multiple times, he had two feedings, was changed on several occasions and he still gave us these awesome images. There were too many pics to choose from and I had a hard time choosing which ones to show. Makes me miss the newborn stage. :) Congrats to Luka and his family on his birth into this world.
